The Santa Fe Watershed Association is growing! We are excited to find a passionate, community-oriented team member to help develop the next chapter of SFWA’s voice and identity. This is a special opportunity to get to know and contribute to the vibrancy of the watershed by helping us grow our capacity for service and deepen our community relationships. The job will primarily entail:
- Managing and developing SFWA’s online presence, collaboratively working with the rest of the team to create content and develop a cohesive voice across platforms and programs
- Working closely with the Director of Stewardship and Community Outreach to support the Adopt Your Watershed program and other outreach initiatives
- Assisting with event planning, promotion, and facilitation (e.g. workshops, cleanups, presentations)
- Supporting and documenting educational field trips, cleanups, and workshops as needed
- Ongoing miscellaneous tasks to support the work and team of SFWA
Preferred Skills and Requirements
- Experience with photography, content creation, and social media trends (or a strong interest in/aptitude for learning these skills)
- Experience with and/or aptitude for social media and mailing platforms (Facebook, Instagram, MailChimp), graphics programs (Canva, etc.), websites (WordPress), and Microsoft 365
- Passion for learning, sharing knowledge, and collaboration
- Deep connection to and passion for Northern New Mexico and ideally the Santa Fe area
- Comfort and ability to work in an outdoor environment in a variety of conditions
- Excellent verbal and written communication and calendar management skills
- Ability and comfort working with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to start work 100% in person, with potential for hybrid option based on performance
- Must have own transportation, driver’s license
- Background or interest in natural resource management, environmental justice, community building
- Proficiency or fluency in Spanish
This position begins at 15-20 hours/week, $22/hr, plus mileage reimbursement for work-related travel. Opportunity to quickly increase in pay, hours, and responsibility based on performance and interest. Two weeks set paid time off, biweekly benefit stipend after 3 months of employment.
