Plant ID workshop

August 14 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

The Santa Fe River Watershed is a verdant, dynamic, and biodiverse habitat. During this guided workshop, you’ll be acquainted with both native species and invasive plants growing along the Santa Fe River between Siler Road and Frenchy’s Footbridge. You’ll also learn about the local efforts to curtail invasives and enhance the native flora.

Space is limited, and registration is required. Click here to RSVP

The workshop is led by Arle Kruckeberg, who has degrees in botany, plant physiology, and genetics, and a keen interest in horticulture and natural history, and River Steward Lisa Farrand, who has organized numerous volunteer trash cleanups, weed removal and re-seeding projects, and erosion control projects in this reach of the river since 2021. Lisa and Arle have recently been inventorying the plant life along this section of the river.

What to Bring: Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. We recommend bringing sunscreen, a hat, and a water bottle.

Parking: Parking is available at the lot off Siler Road and the River Trail. Click here for a Google Maps pin.
