Project WET is Water Education Today. The mission of Project WET is to advance water education to understand global challenges and inspire local solutions. Among many things, Project WET provides hands-on, science-based water education resources to formal and non-formal educators around the world. These resources encourage responsible environmental stewardship and promote meaningful action to address environmental challenges, climate change, social justice, and sustainability.
As the host institution for Project WET in New Mexico, SFWA holds teacher workshops in Santa Fe throughout the school year with funding from the City of Santa Fe. Workshops focus on the properties of water, water conservation, sustainability, water quality, and other important topics. SFWA also supports a network of facilitators that conduct Project WET workshops in the state.
